Spruce top, mother-of-pearl and ebony bindings, ebony fingerboard, gut frets, ebony bridge. A very rare baroque guitar in good overall condition. Scale 62,5, nut 4,3, body length 44,8, upper b out 20,2, middle bout 7,7, lower bout 26,6, lowest rim 8cm.

 

Didier Nicolas Ainé (1757-1833), known as "the deaf" managed the largest musical instrument workshop in Mirecourt. One could call it the first real factory, because at the time he had several dozen artisans working for him. Just before 1800, the baroque guitar was still relatively widespread.
